Film studies..
[info]adam_martinez92
I took film studies thinking it was going to be my slackest class. It turned out it isnt. Its more work than I thought but it isnt terrible. All we do in our class is watch a variety of movies based on the "unit" we are learning about. It could be a unit on screen plays or a unit on asethitics. But for every movie we have to do a film log. Which is a worksheet that we have to write our own reviews and plot summaries and what not. Its not horrible just its not a lot of fun most of the time. I have seen a lot of good movies though because of that class but at the same time I have seen some things that arent good.

Anatomy
[info]adam_martinez92

Anatomy feels like my worst choice this year for a class. MY teacher is really nice but there is a huge problem with him. He is pretty old so he is kind of... boring. I hate to say that because I feel bad but its the truth. Very few people stay awake or pay attention in that class. Like I said he is really nice but way too boring. Another problem is that he has a hearing aid. His hearing is so bad it really interferes with his teaching and thats the sad part. His assignments are famous around the school. Some people joke around that his class should be called honors coloring.

Which language(s) do you currently speak? If you could learn only one other language, what would you choose, and why?

I currently speak English. I can slightly speak German because I am learning it now. I would definitely want to learn spanish though. Spanish is such a great language to leearn because it is a very widely spoken language and where I live can be very useful. I don't think any other language would be as helpful to know, atleast in my case.

Plan B
[info]adam_martinez92
I actually have two plan B's for my college situation. Plan A is to get into UCF. But one of my plan B's is to go to Valencia. Valencia is a community college near UCF and if you do good your first two semesters there you get almost for sure acceptance into UCF. The only problem is trying to find a nice place to live since it is slightly far from home. I feel that it would allow me to gain more independance and still eventually go to the school i want to go to. Or my other plan is to go to FIU. I could get my 4 year degree there and it would be cheaper for housing probably. So if plan A doesnt work I have to figure out what plan I am going to go with.

Still worried
[info]adam_martinez92
So this is pretty lame still. I was deferred from UCF and they told me I should send in "more competative test scores." So I took the ACT. I took the ACT and I didnt think anything of it. But when I got the results back I was pleasantly surprised that I got a 26. A 26 is a pretty decent score so I was pretty happy. I sent the results to UCF to see what they had to say. When I checked online they said they got my new results and are waiting to see the "strength of this years applicants." So I am worried that I wont make it in. It is kind of annoying to know that some people applied there even though they know they didnt want to go.

Writer's Block: Like mobile for chocolate
[info]adam_martinez92

If you had to give up either chocolate or your mobile phone forever, which would you sacrifice?

View 970 Answers

This answer is easy peasy lemon squeezy. I would definitely sacrifice chocolate. There are a few reasons why I would choose to keep my cell phone. One reason is that cell phones help you stay connected with people when your not home. Also a mobile phone can text which has become a great and easy way to communicate. Moile phones also allow you to go online and surf the web. All these amazing things come from one mobile phone. Meanwhile on the other hand, chocolate only lets you eat it. You cant really doing else with it. And personally I don't even eat that much chocolate or even sweets for that matter. So I am willing to give up chocolate.

I don't think I have a simple answer to this question. I mean there are little silly things that I would like to do in my life but nothing I can think of that I would regret if I was to die. I believe that everything is already "planned out." It will happen if it is supposed to, but on the same side I don't think sitting back and doing nothing is the way to go. It is more that everything happens for a reason. So if it was my time to die I would have done what was important in my life already. I feel like I am rambling and not making much sense but in the long run I guess i can't say there is one thing I want to do before I die.

College
[info]adam_martinez92
This is a scary moment in life. I am finishing up my high school career and I am still paranoid of what is to come. I'm not worried that I wont necessarily be ready to be independent but it is more the fact that I cant tell what I am going to be doing. I feel like just because I go to college doesnt mean I am going to be able to get a job or what ever to support myself. I also am worried about if I will ever meet that one special person. I know I am a little young to be worrying about that but it is something in the back of my head that I am worried about. I also dont even know where exactly I am going to go just yet. So I have a lot on my plate.

Writer's Block: The One Movie Everyone Should See

What one film do you think everyone should see?

this is an easy question to answer. One movie I think everyone to see is definitely UP. It was phenomenal! It was one of the best movies Disney and Pixar has probably made. It has so many good things about it. One reason it is so good is because of its humor. It wasnt too childish and everyone in the family could enjoy. I laughed a whole lot when watching the movie. But there was another factor that made the movie so amazing. There were some really emotional scenes that were really heart felt. They were such tear jerker scenes and they came so unexpectangly. It is just an amazing movie overall and I think people need to see it to make their own judgements on it.

Writer's Block: My Favorite Movie Quote

What’s your favorite movie quote of all time?

That is one of the hardest questions I have been asked in a while. Its so hard because there are so many good quotes and different reasons for me liking them so much. One reason it could be my favorite quote is because it made me and my friends laugh. For example a bunch of people I know all like to joke about the quote "squirrel." It is from the movie UP and its funny as hell. It always makes us laugh. We will be talking about anything and someone will just randomly, mid sentence, say squirrel. But I don't know if that would be my favorite quote of all time but it is definitely up there.

Projects
[info]adam_martinez92
I have a project due soon in one of my classes and I dont really want to do it. It is a pretty lame project and the teacher is a little crazy for assigning it to us. She will go on rants about how its a lot of work for her to grade projects. She also goes on to say that projects are supposed to help us and all this crap. I dont see how that is true since most kids complain about having to do projects. They are usually very time consuming and annoying. it is just a little redundant to complain to us about having to grade projects yet you want to assign them to us, to "help" our grades. I guess I don't get it.

Writer's Block: Yes, offense taken
[info]adam_martinez92

If a friend or relative makes a racist or homophobic remark, do you tend to confront them or let it slide? Are you more likely to confront them if it offends you directly or someone else who seems reluctant to speak up?

View 1596 Answers

Well I have never heard my friends or family make a harsh remark like that and them be serious. I mean we have joked around and said some mean stuff but we don't mean it, and yes I realize someone can over hear us and maybe get offended but we can explain to them that we are joking. Now if my friend was being truly racist I would say something because its messed up, I don't like to made fun of for something as stupid as race or orientation. I guess I just think some people need to get a better sense of humor but at the same time some people need to know when they take it just a little too far.

TGIF
[info]adam_martinez92
Thank Geebus its Friday. I didn't say God because I didn't want to offend anyone. But I am so glaaaaaad today is Friday. I love the weekend, finally get to relax and have some good clean fun! This week wasn't that bad considering we had wednesday off but still its great to be the weekend. I wish i knew what I was going to do tonight but thats part of the fun of a friday night, trying to figure out what you are going to do. There are so many different things to do that you never know whats gonna happen and that is half of the fun.

Kinda Bummed
[info]adam_martinez92
So I am a little saddened to know that the end of Pep Squad has finally arrived. We are basically active only for the football season and now the season for us is over. It is sad to know that we had an amazing season(our football team) and yet still couldn't make it to the playoffs. It was fun going to the games and it was even more fun at the pep rallies. They were probably the most fun. I missed 2 classes so that was a nice bonus. I also got to kind of embarrass myself a couple times because the skit was for us guys to wear girl clothes. It was fun though. I was also able to represent pep squad in a male pagent show our school hosts. That was a great experience that only being in Pep Squad could give me. I also got interviewed by the yearbook staff recently to talk about being on pep squad and that was just a cool new experience for me.

I dont even know
[info]adam_martinez92
There is the old saying better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all. I am not sure I can even clearly agree with it right now. I am realizing that people only hurt other people. People don't have to hurt people only physically but we can hurt each other verbally and even emotionally. I feel that people are only in this world to let you down. I dont even know what to think of life at this point. I feel like I carry my heart on my sleeves and it has constantly bit me in the ass. I try and find love everywhere and it never fails to hurt me. The reason I get like this is because I saw my parents marriage fail and I feel like I need to make sure that doesn't happen. I think that means to overlook some flaws in people. But its hard to do that when the flaw is something that so strongly contradicts my morals and my up bringing. I am so confused about what I am doing with my life right now. I am confused about everything going on in my life, friends, school and college of course. There is only one college I want to go to and i don't feel like I am going to go. Moments in my life like this makes me want to join the military. I strongly want to join the military if I don't get into the college I want. Because at that point in my life I would have realized that I am not doing anything and would not mind dying out in combat. I believe in predetermination so if it is my time to go it is my time. You can't change fate, least that is how I look at the world.

Writer's Block: I'm sorry
[info]adam_martinez92

If you only had one day left to live, and you had the chance to tell one person from your past "I love you," who would it be? How about "I'm sorry"?

Since I haven't lived for very long I'm not sure how far in the past this person is, but it would be this girl Rachel. She kind of flipped my world upside down and I caused it to crash right back down. But if the moment came I would tell her that, not just romantically but as a friend too. I'm not sure who I would say sorry to because I usually don't like never make up with someone. So I could not think of someone who I would need to apologize to.

Writer's Block: So funny I forgot to laugh
[info]adam_martinez92

If a friend cracks a corny joke, do you force yourself to laugh politely? What about if it's your boss or teacher? Do you get annoyed if someone else pretends to be amused?

I personally love corny jokes so I rarely have to force myself to laugh. But there are cases where I will force my self to laugh at a bad joke or something like that. And if its my teachers I definitly try and laugh at any of their jokes because they are trying to make class more fun and its just sad when they don't get any reaction from the kids. I would never get annoyed if they pretend to be amused because I do it so I can't be a hippocrite and be annoyed when someone else does it.

Homecoming
[info]adam_martinez92
Homecoming is on Saturday. Looking back I never realized how close it was to approaching. And of course since I lost track of time there is a couple complications that arose. The main problem is the limo. We had a decent group of people going in the limo so I did not really worry too much about it. But as time passed the person that was supposed to be in charge of ordering the limo and stuff did not go through with it so some people backed out. So now we all have to pay for a limo that is going to be half empty. Which is a major problem and we are still trying to figure it out.

Writer's Block: Go to the head of the class
[info]adam_martinez92

When you take a class or attend a big meeting, where do you prefer to sit? Up close or way back where you can make a speedy get-away? Can you force yourself to focus even when you're not interested?

View 619 Answers

Personally I go for more of the middle section. That way its about the same distance to the exit whether its in the front or back. And another upside is that you kind of blend in in the middle. It allows you to get away with more because they expect people in the back to be the ones doing "wrong" things. It is very hard to focus on something if I am not interested. I can if I feel compelled to because of the speaker sometimes.

Writer's Block: Nothing to fear but fear itself

What is your biggest fear? Have you tried to overcome it?

One of my biggest fears is definitely my fear of heights. I have been scared of heights for as long as I can remember. I mean I have overcome it to an extent. For example going on roller coasters have helped especially high ones. But I still get a little tense if I go in like an elevator that has like its back open and if it goes like to a 20-something floor. Its something that I'm working on slowly but surely.
